France

What can I expect from France?

Welcome to France, where there’s a whole lot of awesomeness waiting for you! Get ready to explore a country that’s got it all – history, culture, and stunning scenery.

First stop, Paris – the City of Lights! You’ve seen it in movies and pictures, but being there is a whole different level of cool. Check out the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Walk along the Seine River, grab some tasty pastries at cozy cafes, and soak in the artsy vibes of Montmartre.

But France isn’t just about Paris. There’s way more to see! Head down to Provence and be blown away by those pretty lavender fields and old-school villages. And don’t forget the French Riviera – it’s the perfect spot to live the glamorous life, with fancy beach towns and crystal-clear waters.

If you’re into castles and wine (who isn’t?), then the countryside is your playground. Bordeaux and the Loire Valley have some epic châteaux surrounded by vineyards. Talk about picture-perfect!

Now, let’s talk food. French cuisine is the bomb! Escargot, coq au vin, and bouillabaisse are just some of the scrumptious dishes you’ve got to try. And the pastries? Croissants and macarons are simply mouthwatering!

Oh, and don’t miss out on the artsy stuff! There are festivals, art galleries, and theaters all over the place. Get ready to be wowed by their culture!

Our adventures in France

  • We kicked off Day 2 at Walt Disney Studios, after having had breakfast at the apartment. When I first visited Disneyland in 2003, Studios was a celebration of show business, films, and behind-the-scenes. This time, I didn’t feel that vibe as clearly as before – the park is more of an extension of Disneyland combined with the worlds of Pixar and Marvel, although with a different architecture, its own characters and merchandising.

  • Super excited for the first of two full days in Disneyland Paris, we woke up before 7am aiming to reach Disneyland Park before opening time. Disneyland Paris is slightly over 1 hour away from ibis Paris Montmartre 18ème where we were staying for the night. With luggage to carry over, we needed to be as fast and efficient as possible to make it on time.

  • On our final day in Paris, a Monday, as our flight was scheduled for later in the evening, we wanted to revisit our favorite places, do some shopping and embrace the energy of the city on a vibrant weekday. After stashing our luggage at the Montmartre hotel, we made a list of “must-do’s” before heading down to the river, ensuring we had enough time to pick up our luggage before departing for the airport.

  • Our wedding anniversary dawned upon us, shiny and bright. We set out for the Arc de Triomphe, undecided about whether it would be worth going up. In the end, we decided against it and focused on finding a charming breakfast spot. Our eyes landed on Ladurée at Champs-Élysées – its quaint outdoor seating area felt perfect for our special day, but the long waiting line discouraged us. Eventually, we chose Café Joyeux, a remarkable initiative supporting the integration of individuals with disabilities. Their breakfast menu was competitively priced (11 euros for coffee, juice, croissant, or pain au chocolat), and the

  • After a magical stay at Disneyland Paris, we bid adieu to the enchanting world of fairytales and returned to Paris. Taking the train from Val d’Europe to Charles de Gaulle (Etoile) and then the metro to Montmartre (Place du Clichy), it took us around 1h30 to arrive and settle into the same hotel we stayed on Day 1 Ibis Paris Montmartre 18ème.

  • Bonjour, fellow adventurers! As we sit here, reminiscing about our journey through the City of Love, we can hardly believe it has been one whole month since we embarked on our romantic escapade to Paris.
